We made small and large paper helicopters using cardboard and a paper clip.We found out that the shape of the helicopter rotor blades make it spin when dropped from a height.Adding more paper clips changes the spin! The small one reaches the ground first!
All you need is a pump, water, a bottle and a lot of space! We launched our rocket by pumping air into the plastic bottle. The air pushes the rocket forward!
Patterns are all around us.We found patterns in the sea, in nature, on animal skins and fabrics and fibre.
Our band rocks!
We made sleigh bells with toilet rolls and bells. We made Chinese banger drums with lollipop sticks, beads, card and string.
We loved using the parachute!
First class really enjoyed using the parachute in P.E. this week.We learned how to pass the ball around the edge of the parachute by controlling our grip.We had to be very quick when swopping places with someone else before the parachute covered our heads!

Jumping hurdles
Jump, jump, jump!
Jumping hurdles
This week we practiced jumping over hurdles of different heights. We learned how to run, plant one foot on the ground and jump as high as we could go!We also practiced jumping using a skipping rope.
The strongest bridge
We explored how to make a paper bridge stronger.Using blocks, books, paper, pencils, crayons and counters we designed a bridge that will take the heaviest weight. We found out that the bridge with an arch or a corrugated bridge held many objects.
