CRATERS!

We talked about dinosaurs and discussed one of the reasons why we think they became extinct: Possibly hit by showers of asteroids.
We placed mini dinosaurs on the sand and then dropped various sized balls from a height into the tin of sand. Each ball created a crater in the sand when dropped. We found out that small marbles create a small crater and large ball creates a much bigger crater.
We saw the imprint of the balls in the sand.

Trip to the Bottle Bank!

When we visited the bottle bank we met the man who collects all the bottles when the bank is full. He told us all about the bottle bank. He said he collects it in his truck then all of the glass is recycled in a plant. It is crushed down into tiny pieces, melted and then used to make new bottles. He said it is very important to separate the glass into the correct colours.
We recycled some brown and clear glass.
We heard a huge CRASH when the bank of bottles was emptied into the truck!!

We are learning all about Space.
We made rockets from felt material. We had great fun cutting up different shapes!
