As part of Science week we learned about electricity. We learned how to create static electricity by rubbing a balloon against our hair. The electricity created can repel objects. When Anna touched the surface of the Plasma Ball the electricity flowed from the Plasma Ball through her body, down to the ground (earth)!

Day at the beach
Ms. Gilligan's, Ms. Costello's and Ms. O Connor's first classes recently enjoyed a fantastic day at Ballyloughane beach. We explored the upper, middle and lower shore and found all sorts of shells, seaweeds and crustaceans. We found limpets, periwinkles, barnacles, mussels, cockles, sandhoppers, bladder wrack seaweed, channel wrack seaweed and serrated wrack seaweed.
We also explored the rockpools for fish and crabs.
The class really enjoyed making sand creations. They built forts, castles and bridges galore!
We also measured the length of parts of the beach using the trundle wheel.
We love the beach and hope we can visit Ballyloughane again soon!
